3Book ReviewThe Ferrari Legend - The 250 GT Competition Berlinetta
Jess G. Pourret

Kurt H. Miska

Attention to all you devotees of serial numbers, chassis and engine type numbers and other minutiae, at least part of your fondest dreams has come true. On the other hand, with one mighty stroke of the pen, Jess Pourret probably has stopped any further research anyone might have done on 250 GT competition berlinettas.
4Improving the Breed at Ohio's Transportation Research Centre

Stanley D. Ross

Back in 1974 when Ohio opened its new and expensive Transportation Research Center, I thought the taxpayers had bought a great white elephant. Nonetheless I tested a Pantera on it and found it to be great fun to drive the magnificent 7-1/2 mile high-bank oval, but still I thought the facility was of no great value. I was wrong, as we shall see.
6The First Ferrari Four Camshaft Sports Cars

Michael T. Lynch

Joel Finn, David Seielstad, Road & Track

On March 23, 1957, I woke early and eagerly got out of my sleeping bag even though the morning was cold. I stood against a snow fence alongside a narrow strip of pavement in central Florida. Peter Collins thundered past my post. He was driving a Ferrari 315 Sport roadster, s/n 0656, and was leading the Twelve hours of Sebring by two hundred yards half way through the first lap.
20Additional Notes on Four Camshaft Cars

Joel Finn

One of my many planned but unrealized projects has been to put together a detailed article covering the 1957-58 four camshaft sports Ferraris. Other efforts always seem to have gotten in the away that took precedence, and in spite of accumulating a batch of reference material and photographs, pen never was put in hand.

"Bellissimo e Buono! It means beautiful and good; the secret of our success." So begins the prefatory paragraph in the menu of the famous Como Inn restaurant of Chicago, scene of many successful Ferrari Club of America meets.

Possible rear suspension failure on 330 GTC, 330 GTS, 365 GTC and 365 GTS

Dyke Ridgley

The Problem: The rear spring-shock absorber upper mounts on the frame of these cars consists of two sets of ears that are welded to the ends of a tube. This tube lies transversely across the frame at the upper rear of the car. These welds can sometimes break.

It wasn't a dark and stormy night. It was a dark and stormy morning. A Sunday morning when sixty plus FCA members and guests wanted to see how fast their Ferraris would be at Blackhawk Race Track. No one seemed really interested however, so only the "diest" of diehards were out "having at it". The rest of us were under umbrellas or had taken up residence in the control tower - which really wasn't built to hold so many people!

Fabulous!!! That's the only word to describe the North Central States Region's fall gathering at Spring Green, Wisconsin on October 7th, 8th and 9th. The setting was superb, the mellow rolling hills of Wisconsin, the colorful splendor of autumn, outstanding architecture, and of course, the beautiful cars of Maranello.
