A word about the Ferraris at the Third Annual Monterey Historic Automobile Races and the 26th Pebble Beach Concours.
While a great many Ferraris were scattered throughout the Laguna Seca and Del Monte Lodge parking lots, we are concerned really only with some 22 or so cars for their historic purposes.

It finally came to me at the Ferrari Club of America's annual Meeting, 1976 when the M.C. at the Annual Banquet failed to recognize the existence of the Florida Region it became obvious. The Florida Region suffers from lack of exposure.

Cedar Raouds, Iowa? San Juan, Rico? New Orleans, Louisiana? Baltimore, Maryland? These places are long ways away from Atlanta, Georgia, even when travelling via Ferrari. Parties from these four places, and approximately 100 other people with shorter distances to cover, made trek to Atlanta for the Third Annual Joint Meeting of the Southeast Region of the Ferrari Club of America and the Easter Region of the Aston Martin Owners Club.

When searching for an appropriate beginning for our article on the 1976 Annual Meeting, we re-read the story written about the event by Harper Barnes of the staff of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. In it, Barnes reminisces about the headline from a 1961 French newspapers which came out the day after that years;s running of the 24 hour race at Le Mans. The headline told it all ... FERRARI! FERRARI!! FERRARI!!!

To me, the V12 pontoon fendered Testa Rossa has always ranked number one as the most desirable Ferrari of all. It is an intriguing design and as handsome a competition machines as has ever been built. I'm pleased to have this opportunity to describe my Testa Rossa, #0710 TR, for you, regarding it as the finest example of the series, and a true racing classic.
