Cavallino is the journal of Ferrari history, covering Ferraris old and new for over 40 years. It's the most reliable, most trusted source of everything Ferrari. Ever since the first issue in 1978 Cavallino presents extensive stories and detailed information from knowledgeable experts and enthusiasts who share the passion for Ferrari. All Ferraris are unique, and each one has its own chassis serial number. This is how the Ferrari world keeps track of all the great cars. Cavallino is the only publication that prints the serial number for every Ferrari mentioned in our stories, articles, and race results.

It is not revisionism to suggest that the Mille Miglia was primarily and Italian national event. If you have doubts, see how many names you recognize as your eyes fall ways from the sharp end of the result lists. Only three foreigners ever won - Caracciola (D), 1931, Mercedes, von Hanstein (D), 1940, BMW; and Moss (GB), 1955 Mercedes. The remainder of the twenty four races between 1927 and 1957 were won by Italians driving Italian cars.

As the sun set softly through a row of mountainous sub-tropical clouds on Sunday evening, it was a fitting finale to the Second Annual Cavallino Ferrari Classic in Palm Beach, Florida, over the weekend of of February 17-21, 1993. We mention the weather first because it was perfect throughout - cool nights, warm days, breezes off the ocean, subside everywhere - and it was the consummate background to all the Ferrari activities that took place.

If your were lucky enough to be near Los Angeles on February 27, and luck enough to see Ferrari's fabulously orchestrated introduction of the 348 Spider, you were among the first to see the car that (I'm convinced) will turn things around for Ferrari. In a very original more, Ferrari negotiated with the Beverly Hills City Council and others to close Rodeo Drive for the day, hold a Concours d'Elegance that was three blocks long, and introduced their first two seat production Spider since the 365 GTB/4.

Before it is completely overshadowed by events, we want to spend a bit more time on the 348 Serie Speciale, introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show in December last year, and the highlight of the Second Annual Cavallino Ferrari Classic this year; it's already in the dealers' showrooms, with many of them already out the dealers' doors and into the hands of appreciative enthusiasts.

Here are the general dimension of the new 512 TR in millimetres and inches. Note the surprising front overhang at the nose of the car in the side view, something not at all apparent in real life because of the rounded front fenders and bumper; this curved aspect is easily seen in the top view.
