Amelia Island - always great and now destined for future greatness as simply 'The Amelia'

Denis L. Tanney

Founded 27 years ago by an enterprising car enthusiast and budding entrepreneur, Bill Warner, the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance seemed an unusually good idea but centered in an unusually unlikely place. Amelia Island was one of those barrier islands in northern Florida that one passed by, on the old Dixie Highway on one's way south to the 'real Florida'.

26LetteraturaFull Circle - a Man and a Ferrari 250 GTO - has to be a good read
Written by Larry Perkins and Petra Perkins

As any bibliophile with a Ferrari proclivity knows, there are plenty of books on the Ferrari 250 GTO out there. So, you wouldn't think there'd be a place for another one, but two authors from Colorado found a slot.

The fourth Ferrari 275 GTB built by serial number sequence was given chassis number 06437, and it is a true 275 GTB Speciale. It was painted aqua verde metallizzato with a rust-red leather interior. It is the only 275 GTB bodied in the Pininfarina factory near Turin, all the others having gone to Scaglietti for their coachwork.
During the spring and summer of 1965, and earlier during 1964, it received numerous special styling features at Pininfarina and was used by Battista Pininfarina as a normal road car.

Less than a year after Ferrari launched the game-changing 296 GTB in the summer of 2021, it is time for the 296 GTS to continue the natural order of pregression in Maranello. Building on the GTB's V6 Hybrid powered alloy-underpinnings as well as the heritage that started with the Dino 246 GTS in 1972, this new open-top variant promises to increase even more on the fun-to-drive factor.

Just about every Ferrari made came up for sale at these auctions, with results that are hard to qualify - many No Sales and Withdrawns as sellers could not get the price they were after and so bailed to wait for another day.
