Ever since the first issue in 1978 Cavallino presents extensive stories and detailed information from knowledgeable experts and enthusiasts who share the passion for Ferrari. All Ferraris are unique, and each one has its own chassis serial number. This is how the Ferrari world keeps track of all the great cars. Cavallino is the only publication that prints the serial number for every Ferrari mentioned in our stories, articles, and race results.

This 2018 edition celebrated 70 years of Porsche, the 25th birthday of the triplet Peugeot 905, and 40 years of the Renault victory at Le Mans.

The last of the Artisan Ferraris

Dustin Wetmore

Jerry Wyszatycki

For several decades now, Ferrari connoisseurs have come to rely on a steady supply of high performance spyders. Well-developed coupés, benefiting from high demand, are natural candidates for the production of a spyder variant. Since the early 1950s, evolutionary developments tested on the race track naturally evolved into road car construction. We've all said it at least once - racing improves the breed. The convertibles made available by Ferrari were no exception.

The Quail - a Motorsports Gathering, at the Quail Lodge Resort in Carmel Valley, California, was a big success again, with 5,000 passes selling out in one day the previous spring. Champagne, wine and plentiful food are included so it's not only about the cars but also about the celebration of good times and food fellowship; the cars are the draw.

Classiche Ferrari

Ferrari chose Pebble Beach again for their Casa Ferrari, a tradition that started down in Carmel but was more advantageous here, having more room and being a part of the Pebble Beach car activities. Ferrari North America and Classiche decided to honor the Ferrari convertible through the years and did an excellent job of attracting many worthwhile examples, including four NART Spyders.

The Monterey Motorsports Reunion was again held at the famed Laguna Seca race track but sadly there were few Ferraris taking part. The cars have become so valuable that most stay home, as owners do not want to risk them in a competitive environment.
