The Journal of Ferrari History

Cavallino is the journal of Ferrari history, covering Ferraris old and new for over 40 years. It's the most reliable, most trusted source of everything Ferrari. Ever since the first issue in 1978 Cavallino presents extensive stories and detailed information from knowledgeable experts and enthusiasts who share the passion for Ferrari. All Ferraris are unique, and each one has its own chassis serial number. This is how the Ferrari world keeps track of all the great cars. Cavallino is the only publication that prints the serial number for every Ferrari mentioned in our stories, articles, and race results.

Although not in the best of health lately, Dan Gurney's passing shocked the entire motor racing community. The latest edition of Rétromobile in Paris, France is over. It was a very good show with many interesting specimens, like the Alpine-Renault prototype from Le Mans 1978, or the beautiful Abarth collection of Swiss Engelbert Möll, or the Bugatti T57 Cabriolet by Gangloff, or the three prototypes of cars designed by Bugatti's pilot Jean-Pierre Wimille at the end of 1940s. Of course, many Ferraris were also present, around 50!

There are three fascinating new books which any Cavallino reader will enjoy. They chronicle the life and racing career of America's only native born Grand Prix World Champion, an achievement that Phil Hill consummated in 1961 in a Ferrari 156. One cannot help to be impressed by the quality of the three volumes, all entitled 'Inside Track', with the subtitles of 'Volume 1 - 1951 to 1956', 'Volume 2 - 1957 - 1962, which are a slipcase set, and 'The Racing Autobiography', a stand-alone book in the same format, that can also be purchased with the set.
