The Journal of Ferrari History

Cavallino is the journal of Ferrari history, covering Ferraris old and new for over 40 years. It's the most reliable, most trusted source of everything Ferrari. Ever since the first issue in 1978 Cavallino presents extensive stories and detailed information from knowledgeable experts and enthusiasts who share the passion for Ferrari. All Ferraris are unique, and each one has its own chassis serial number. This is how the Ferrari world keeps track of all the great cars. Cavallino is the only publication that prints the serial number for every Ferrari mentioned in our stories, articles, and race results.

On arriving in Vail, I went straight to the garage to see the beautiful Ferrari 250 MM Pinin Farina Berlinetta (s/n 0340) that had just been delivered. the Colorado Grand is just an outstanding event where about 100 pre-1960s run together for four days and for over 1,000 miles. The organizers determine car eligibility using rigourous parameters, and it takes a very special car to have a sure entry!

Most things, living or otherwise, tend to trend downhill as they pile on the years, but there are exceptions. Wine, for one, Ferrari, for another. The weekend of September 9 and 10 in and around Modena and Maranello, Italy, was given over to celebrating Ferrari's 70 years of turning out exceptional, timeless, highly collectible automobiles, culminating in today's 800 horsepower 812 Superfast coupé and the LaFerrari Aperta.

The Goodwood Revival again showed the old racing world how its done, by bringing together old race cars and letting them race on the historic Goodwood circuit. Many people enjoy seeing these cars race at full bore, while others cringe at the several 'incidences' whih took place and no doubt with many more to come.
