Most convenient! But, the Tour Auto Lissac does not aim for a handy solution, only looking for a pleasant trip. Thus, this Paris to Marseille 2008 route took five days and covered 1800 kilometers. |

Ferrari Superamericas attracted an ultra-wealthy, select, and limited clientele that demanded the driving experience, performance, prestige, and automotive panache only Ferrari could deliver, along with deluxe interior trappings equal to anything coming from Coventry, Newport Pagnell, Stuttgart, or Crewe. |
44 | Feature | A Glimpse at the Beginning - Ferrari 166 Inter s/n 029 S A very early Coupe from Ferrari and Touring Keith Bluemel Ivo H.J. Lucas Luijckx When people talk about a Ferrari 166, the image that immediately comes to mind is the iconic 166 MM Barchetta. However, this was preceded by the 166 Spyder Corsa, and was produced alongside the 166 Sport and 166 Inter road going models. Our feature car is chassis s/n 029 S, which is an example of the 166 Inter model with coachwork by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan. |
54 | Feature | Ferrari F1 Debut The Grand Prix of Valentino at Turin, September 5, 1948 Paolo D'Alessio, Pietro Castiglioni Courtesy Paolo D'Alessio Journalists have a strange profession. At times, they spend weeks, months and years doing extensive research to gather material in order to be able to write a story of a Scuderia such as Ferrari, while at other times, in just one day, they are able to obtain old images and documents of very important value. This is what happened to me while going through the archives of a private collector. I discovered significant images that had never been published before, and as a result, I was able to document an auto racing event of historic magnitude - the debut of Ferrari in Formula One. |
