Ferrari display Bio-Fuel F430 Spider

Michael Gregg

At the Detroit Auto Show, or more properly, the North American International Auto Show, in January, Ferrari had on display several models from its current range of offerings, but with two new models of interest - the very new 430 Scuderia, and an F430 Spider, but one with twist - the car is a biofuel powered technological demonstration prototype. Shrewdly, Ferrari chose the Detroit show to introduce and highlight this "green" model, since "going green" has become a big part of the American consciousness lately.
18NotizieFerrari financial results for 2007 published, and show good gains
The Ferrari S.p.A. Board of Directors met in Maranello in February to review the financials of the company for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2007. They were extremely pleased to note that all economic indicators were significantly higher over 2006, to the point that Ferrari ended the 2007 year with record breaking results, which they feel is unprecedented in their long history.
18NotizieFerrari Japan KK
In an unsurprising move, Ferrari announced in February that it had completed the establishment of Ferrari Japan KK, a new subsidiary fully-owned by Ferrari S.p.A. In an attempt to solidify the reputation of its cars as the ultimate long distance grand touring cars (and we mean "long distance"), Ferrari first sent an F355 on a round the world tour in 1997, two 612 Scagliettis on a serpentine trip through China in 2005, and two 599 GTB Fioranos over the two continents of America. Now, in February Ferrari has announced a further continental excursion for the 612, this time around the subcontinent of India.

This year, the main and specific theme retained for the 2008 Rétromobile was "Woman and the Automobile." Whether movie stars or actual drivers and pilot, women have always been present throughout the history of the automobile. Rétromobile is mostly about automobiles, from all eras and in all conditions, but it is also the temple of scale model, book and memorabilia collecting.

With a production run of only 330 cars, the 275 GTB/4 model is not a particularly common sight, so when Cavallino had the opportunity to sample a pair of them it was an opportunity not to be passed up. Furthermore, a bonus was that neither of them was "re-sale red", although they had been during their lives, but both have been meticulously restored to their original color combinations under the supervision of John Mayston-Taylor.
