On the 12th of November, 2007, Ferrari announced that as of the 1st of January, 2008, Stefano Dominicali will take over from Jean Todt as Director of the Gestione Sportiva. The final GT2 race of 2007 - the finish to a great year for Ferrari in GT2

Keith Bluemel

The sixth and final round of the Le Mans Series was held at the Interlagos circuit in Brazil, three weeks after it had hosted the F1 Grand Prix. This was a long haul trip for the competitors, and this reflected in the smallest field of the season, with only twenty three cars making the journey from Europe, fourteen of which were in the GT2 category, and of these four were Ferraris.

Arnaud Blanfuney

Jean-Bernard Heros

Competed in six meetings on six different circuits, the French GT Championship was once again a great success. Some beautiful cars (the series is one of the last in the world to still accept the impressive cars that are the backbone of GT1) with some famous drivers and you thus have some great races with many great battles.

DPPI, Denis L. Tanney, Hugo Garritsen

Quite a year for Ferrari in the three major endurance race series, the FIA GT, ALMS and LMS. In each of these series, Ferrari topped the charts in the GT2 category with the F403 GT, posting impressive performances that started with a nail biting finish in the 12 Hours of Sebring, the first round of the ALMS in March, when the Risi Competizione entered example won the class by fractions of a second after 12 hours of racing.

The GTO Tour celebrating 45 years of the Ferrari 250 GTO

Moët & Chandon

Patrick Payany, Stephane Foulon

In October this year, the Ferrari 250 GTO, sometimes referred to as "the Mona Lisa of motoring" celebrated its 45th birthday. The Moët & Chandon Tour, an event organized for twenty years now, with the sole goal of celebrating this iconic automobile (of which only 36 were ever made!) once again went on the road - this year for the first time in the dreamy landscape of California.
27MercatoBonhams Auction "Ferrari et les Prestigieuses Italiennes"
The Ferrari market enters a delicate period

Marcel Massini

The recent Bonhams auction in Gstaad, Switzerland, in December was instructive. It showed the general strength of the Ferrari market, with good sale prices being shown for most Ferrari models, but with no break-out prices that show a further strengthening of that market. Indeed, some owners who held out for out-of-the-ballpark prices were disappointed, and had to accept "no sale."

Over the years, Ferrari used a variety of hose clamps, from the 5 and 9 mm copiglia clamps to the mythical English Cheney clamps to the spring clamps on the pollution equipment on the later cars. One of the more unusual and rare clamps, used on the early Ferraris, was the 9 mm "Daimant" clamps derived from the common 9 mm copiglia models.

The competition versions of the 275 GTB were only produced in two very small series, part from the prototype and the three "Speciale" models. The first series was of ten cars with the short nose configuration, manufactured in 1965, whilst the second series was produced in 1966, comprising of twelve cars with the long nose that had been adopted for the series to counteract the front end lift at high speed.

The 1951 Ferrari 212 Inter Coupe Vignale, chassis s/n 0163 E

Marcel Massini

Gildo Mantovani, Marcel Massini

The car featured here is the 18th unit of the type 212 produced, and has chassis and engine number 0163 E. Bodywork for this unique Ferrari was designed by Giovanni Michelotti and built by Alfredo Vignale and his extremely talented team in Torina. Upon request of the original client, Manual Goncalves of Oporto, Portugal, the Ferrari has been painted black with a light green top. This was the color scheme then of the taxi cabs in Portugal. Apparently, Mr. Manuel Concalves tried to keep a low profile.
64OttoGTS Turbo... a love affair with a rare model
Recognizing the V-8s

David Wray

When I wrote in Cavallino about my current Ferrari, a yellow 1990 Testarossa, I mentioned that I would be writing about a tipo that many readers may well have heard about but perhaps not seen, especially those subscribers living in the United States. For my previous Ferrari was a 1986 GTS Turbo, which was made primarily for the Italian market, with some also sold new to Portugal.
67OttoBackground of the GTB & GTS Turbo
An explanation of the type

Keith Bluemel

In 1982, Ferrari produced their first turbocharged road car with the introduction of the 208 GTB Turbo model, for the home market only. This neatly overcame the punitive tax levels on cars with engines of greater than two liter capacity, as it provided performance virtually on a par with its three liter siblings. The turbo models can easily be identified by a row of five slim slots in the front valance below the radiator grille, a more heavily louvered rear lid, and a NACA duct on the lower rear fender just forward of the wheel arch.
