Some comments on the current state of the Ferrari Market

Michael Sheehan

In today's age of instant information, and a global economy, one would think that Ferrari prices would be standardized worldwide. But because of differences in currency rates, variations in importation and tax laws, currency swings and the ups and downs of economies around the world, Ferrari prices do vary, providing some always changing buying opportunities for enthusiasts, and a livelihood for those dealers and brokers who trade globally.

The Superamerica series was supreme, and a Cabriolet was even more select, a truly elite automobile, s/n 2331 SA

Marcel Massini, Pininfarina

From 1959 to 1964, the most powerful Ferrari of the model range was the hype 400 Superamerica. As we know from Cavallino magazine number 108, there was also a cabriolet version, but the open topped 400 SA never really did conquer America. But the example shown here, , s/n 2331 SA, however, is now well preserved and appreciated, by and avid American Ferrari collector.

Dave LeMoine, Al Bochroch

One of the most famous model names in the history of Ferrari! A name that was first applied to the four cylinder sports racing models in 1956, and that was carried through to their twelve cylinder successors from 1957 through to 1962, scoring numerous race victories along the way. These included a win at the Targa Florio, plus a quartet of wins at the 12 Hours os Sebring, and the Le Mans 24 Hours race.
50CommentoThe Ferrari Classiche Certification Program
The Certification program is dissected, with an overview and some observations from the Publisher, and your fellow readers
In the last issue, we had an introduction on the new Certificate of Authenticity program being instituted by Ferrari for the older cars. We also reprinted the certification form as it appeared on Ferrari's website, as of the end of the year. We have some comments, from your staff and from other interested parties, which we believe are of value, since this program will have far reaching effects on the future of the older Ferraris.
