The Enthusiast's Magazine of Ferrari

Cavallino is the journal of Ferrari history, covering Ferraris old and new for over 40 years. It's the most reliable, most trusted source of everything Ferrari. Ever since the first issue in 1978 Cavallino presents extensive stories and detailed information from knowledgeable experts and enthusiasts who share the passion for Ferrari. All Ferraris are unique, and each one has its own chassis serial number. This is how the Ferrari world keeps track of all the great cars. Cavallino is the only publication that prints the serial number for every Ferrari mentioned in our stories, articles, and race results.

Cars were everywhere, people were everywhere, trophies were everywhere - this event has grown to staggering proportions, but it all comes off well since Quail Lodge now closes the entire golf course for the day, giving everyone more room to diplay their cars and giving the paying public more room to park close to the action.
14 Notizie U.S. Presentation of the 360 Modena redefines Horsepower

Mark Wallach

When Ferrari says the 360 Modena has 400 horsepower, you naturally look under the hood and see a two foot by two foot block of aluminium, with hoses, pipes, and wires. But Ferrari decided to show what 400 horesepower looks like and at the American presentation of the car at the New Jersey Meadowlands race track they send a red 360 down the main straight followed by 400 real horses.

This show at Pocono has been around for awhile and had begun to languish until it was taken over several years ago by a new group of enthusiasts. They have improved the event greatly and this can be seen in the caliber of the racing Ferraris, Maseratis, and Alfas that now attend regularly.

34 Feature Ferrari 360 Reflections
A brief look at the essentials

Andreas Meiniger, Ferrari SpA., Hugo Garritsen, Marcel Massini

The real story of the 360 Modena is the complete use of aluminium for the chassis and suspension, as well as the body. This is the first attempt in a sporting vehicle to use an aluminium space frame, that is as strong as a steel frame.
36 Feature Ferrari 166 MM/53, s/n 0290 M
Small but Potent. The rarely seen second series 166 MM Vignale Spyders.

Alan Boe

Alan Boe

This Vignale Spyder body style was almost a standard style at the time and was seen on many Ferraris of different engine sizes and chassis lengths, but somehow vignale made them all look good. The chassis of this 166 MM/53 has the very short 2.250mm wheelbase and in shrinking this style to fit this small platform, vignale has made it look even more muscular, more solid, more forceful than its larger brethren.

Therefore, this column will from now on take on the form of an analysis.

Steve Earle's big party at the famed race track has come a long way in two decades, as well it should since he has done everything right since the beginning and all other vintage events are not ashamed to copy his format.

An enthusiastic and passionate crowd of over 80,000 people came to this econd recasting of motor racing history despite dark skies and at time heavy rain. Remember, everything is done up in period style here, as in Goodwood days of old, and so all the older racing cars are perfectly at home.
