Ferrari Concours Results

Neither the ongoing strikes, the fuel shortages, or the regional flooding discouraged the French Ferrari fans and the public from attending the 22nd edition of Sport & Collection, on the first weekend of June. Indeed, several hundreds of Ferraris (more than 500 according to the organizers!) gathered in Le Vigeant, making it undeniably one of the largest Ferrari events in Europe. Held each year on the Circuit du Val de Vienne, in the very middle of France, this event has always aimed at raising money for cancer research.

Ferrari Club of America International Concours

The Ferrari Club of America Annual meet was held in Columbus, Ohio in June, mainly to take advantage of the famed Mid-Ohio race track. But it was more than just track time, as there was a full complement of other enticements, including tours, lectures, demonstrations, meetings, lunches and dinners, and of course, the fabled Concours of Ferraris. It was a full field, held on the manicured grounds of the Brookside Country Club, with many worthy winners, and it also had a tribute of 15 cars to the late restorer Wayne Obry.

Patrick Peter pulls off another extraordinary race event

The revival of the historical aspects of the Le Mans 24 Hours is called the Le Mans Classic, which takes place every other year at the beginning of July, on the actual Le Mans race track, the same as used in the middle of June by the modern Sports and GTs. This 8th staging of the Le Mans Classic was organized by Peter Auto and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, and this biennial event has became a real crowd pleaser over the years. Among the participants, more than 550 race cars from 1923 to 1981 were on track and something around 8.500 more cars were in the surrounds of the race track!

33 The 250 GT in the Tour de France Automobile
6th Tour de France Automobile - September 15th to 21rd, 1957

The many spectators that had lined the roadside during the Tour de France Automobile of 1956 were eagerly awaiting the return match. The enthusiasm of the drivers for this event was equally important, with no less than 170 applications having been received at the headquarters of the Automobile Club of Nice, before the deadline for registration (the number of competitors was limited to 120).

72 Recent auctions reach a plateau
Auctions confirm what we all knew - a hesitation to the blow-out of the last several years

It wasn't pretty, if you looked at the percentages of Ferraris sold, both at the lone Artcurial auction in France in july, followed five weeks later by the massive amounts of Ferrars for sale at Monterey in August. And the trend was that the more Ferraris you took on, the lower your sale percentage and the more late model Ferraris you took on, your sales percentage dropped dramatically.
