16 Goodwood Revival 2015
Racing as it once was ...

The 18th running of the Goodwood Revival Meeting once again witnessed capacity crowds, to enjoy all that the venue has to offer to the classic car and race enthusiast. It is incredible the way that Lord March and his team manage to maintain, and even surpass, the high standards of the event year in year out, providing a magical step back in time, coupled with some great on track activity over the course of the weekend.

Frankfurt presents new Ferrari variation

At the recent Frankfurt Motor Show, from September 15-17, 2015, Ferrari presented the Spider version of the Ferrari 488 GTB. The 488 Spider on display was s/n 213135, in a striking and iridescent Blu Corsa with a soft muted Black interior.

This may or may not be the final version of the F12, a model that has been a sleeper - a quiet beginning followed by reverenced acceptance by owners. This rendition certainly does the model no harm, as the best sculpted features of the basic F12 have been now espoused and emphasized to give the seminal F12 an even more aggressive character.

By 1954, Ferrari had been building motor vehicles for road and track for just over seven years. Although their number was relatively small, most of these cars were intended for competition, with the vast majority powered by small displacement V12 engines. But, beginning in 1954, Ferrari began building some very special sports racing cars that made do with just four cylinders. Our featured Ferrari 500 Mondial, with an open Pinin Farina body and an unusual history, is one.

Ferrari SpA becomes Ferrari NV and gains a listing as "RACE"

Last year, Fiat announced that it was spinning off its Ferrari division into a separate company. The main purpose was to help pay down Fiat debt, as this will allow Fiat to further enter the equities markets to raise cash to fund the expension of its other brands. Another was the vision that Ferrari could be more valuable to its shareholders as a separate company, these shareholders currently being the same Fiat shareholders (comprised primarily of the Agnelli family and Piero Ferrari).

As the 2015 season draws to a close, the only series with a race outstanding is the FIA World Endurance Championship, with the finale in Bahrain, all other major series having reached their conclusions.

75 Where is the Ferrari Market headed?

A very good question, and no one seems to know the answer. Old Ferraris, along with other important collectibles in all fields - art, jewelry, furniture, homes (yes!) etc - continue to climb, partly because they are rare, partly because the good ones have great provenance, and partly because (like it or not) there is excess money awash around the world with no place else left to go.
