Sunshine and showers were the story of the 2009 Ferrari Club of America National Meet and Concours, which this year was based on the elegant Osthoff Resort and Spa and the picturesque undulating Road America track in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Fortunately, the showers were of short duration, with the first arriving just as the Concours judging finished on the Thursday morning.

32 06449 Anniversary
This is the 45th Anniversary of the 275 GTB introduction at the Paris Auto Salon in 1964, we have exact that car

Many of us are fascinated by the exquisite lines of all the 275 GTBs, even as personal taste must let you decide whether you like the short nose, the long nose, the four cam or on of the competition versions more. In this article, we go back to the beginning of the 275 family, by presenting to you the 275 GTB, s/n 06449, the car that introduced the 275 GTB model at the 1964 Paris Auto Salon.

The driver with style

The fifties were an important decade in motor sport history, and possibly even the most beautiful, although it is never easy to make comparisons. The cars were magnificent and their derivers were real heroes. Among the aces at the wheel, Ascari, Fangio and Moss are regularly written about, but there also was the British driver Tony Brooks, a real artists at the wheel, endowed with a very elegant style, who ran only for pleasure, for the sport, and always with a respect for others.

48 Concours on the Avenue
Carmel-by-the-Sea, California - August 11, 2009

The third annual Carmel-by-the-Sea "Concours on the Avenue" was held on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, and is a show which in its short life span has become a firm fixture as the major opening event to the Monterey historic week of activities. As befits the event's title, the venue for the event is Ocean Avenue in Carmel, which was put on the international map when star actor / director Clint Eastwood became Mayor, and the town still has his famous Hog's Breath Inn amongst its many fine restaurants.

54 Magnificent Monterey
A tale of two events - Quail & Concorso

Despite the global economic recession, there was barely a sign of it on the surface on the Monterey Peninsula during the historic week. Yes, some of the major corporate sponsors, notably the major car manufacturers, were conspicuous by their absence, and some hotels still had vacancy signs, but basically it was business as usual. The week traditionally starts with the low key pre-historic meeting at Laguna Seca the weekend before the main event, and then really gets into gear as the week progresses, culminating with the final day of the historic race meeting, the last evening of the Gooding Auction, and of course, the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
