14 Ferrari prototype F131 with Engine F136 seen around Maranello

Seen around Maranello, the prototype F131. While Ferrari takes great care to camouflage its future cars, much can be learned by noting and comparing details. While this prototype sports an F40 body style, the car is actually shorter, lower and wider than the F40, and has a lessened wheelbase. Shape of front bonnet indicates new chassis technology underneath, and size, type, and placement of the engine can be seen through the rear window.

16 New internet Ferrari Magazine announced, in association with Cavallino
Prova - The online magazine dedicated to the History and Automobiles of Enzo Ferrari

Many of your devoted staff members at Cavallino were alive (just) when Enzo Ferrari started his famous company, and therefore, we are "of a certain age." But even in our regressive state, we are not so far gone that we do not recognize that there is developing a whole new way to communicate, which will become more important in the years ahead. This is, of course, the Internet and the World Wide Web, and so, we are pleased to announce that Cavallino had thrown its support behind a new venture.

Eighteen examples were assembled for the meet, including two short nose two cams, a long nose two cam, eleven four cams, and four Ferrari 275 GTB/C competition two cams.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is only in its fourth year, but is hugely successful at bringing out the greatest old race cars, and race drivers, to drive and be driven, see and be seen, hear and be heard. Ferraris are a small part of this, but are not insignificant.

28 Ferrari 550 Maranello presented!
The new machine in Ferrari's own words

The 550 Maranello is Ferrari's interpretation of the twelve cylinder berlinetta, with a front engine and a pronounced sports personality, for the twenty first century. The brief given to the technicians was particularly demanding: design and build a car able to meet the needs of Ferrari customers looking for driving emotions and exciting performance, but who do not want to forego driveability or comfort.

36 Metamorphosis - The multi-life history of the SWB, s/n 2735GT
There's always more than one way to race a Ferrari

To most Ferrari lovers, a car which still has all its mechanical and body parts with which it left the Factory is a car to be treasured; however, to those of use with a love of history, some cars with an ever changing inventory of parts and with a history of never being hidden from view, plus a truly glorious race history, gives us a much more fascinating vehicle and s/n 2735 GT is just such a car.

47 Shell Historic Challenge revives glory days of Ferrari Challenge

Included in the Ferrari 550 Maranello presentation event at the Nürburgring was another round of the Shell Historic Challenge, and the number of older Ferraris actually competing was impressive. There are some very rare and unique pieces in the line up. While many are no doubt enjoying some fast cruising, staying safely away from each other and the guardrails, there are the leaders who take this very seriously, and who do some very intense wheel to wheel competing!
