Memories of old Horses
Some thoughts on an early and beloved TdF
Sitting next to the Mustang it looked rather small. By itself it looked sleek and fast and from the inside it looked and felt long and lean an lithe. It was my first and remains my favorite Ferrari of several. That sounds a bit pretentious, but we were fortunate enough to be living in Europe at the time when few people wanted clapped-out old sports or racing cars of any make.Gary Schmidt Gary Schmidt
A new artist is discovered and introduced
Uli Hack of Germany
One of the great joys in the collector car hobby is the wide variety of activities that one can get involved with. Certainly, the whole area of fine arts as it relates to these cars is a fascinating aspect of our hobby, and one that a person can make the hole of his interest. Another aspect of this pursuit is the discovery of new artists and their work who are just emerging in this expanding world of automotive fine art.Gary Schmidt Uli Hack
The Colorado Grand greets its fifth great year, and an old Barchetta enjoys the limelight
1993 Colorado Grand
The Colorado Grand remains the premier historic car tour in the U.S.A. largely due to three factors: the unique setting of the event in the vast mountain terrain of Colorado itself, the legendary vision of founder Bob Sutherland, and the competence of his staff's administration of the four day event. 1993 marked the fifth year of the Tour and it was a success in every measure.Robert T. 512 TR Speciale introduced for Japan
Ferrari introduced a new model in Japan last Fall, a 512 TR Speciale, designed only for the Japanese market, and there will be only fifteen of them, to commemorate the fifteen years that Cornes&Co. has been the Ferrari importer to Japan. Cars come with special three piece wheels, a cloisonne Scuderia Ferrari badge embedded in each front fender (a la 288 GTO and F40), and a deep red/maroon paint job called wine-red metallic.Junichiro Hiramatsu Junichiro Hiramatsu
Exclusive interview with Dott. Gian-Liugi Buitoni
November 17, 1993
"We are expecting some fine results with our new car, the 456 GT. The fist car has already been delivered to the King of Belgium along with thirty to forty for other customers. The car is a perfect four seater. Performance-Wise, it is faster than the 512 TR at Fiorano. Our other car is the replacement for the F40. This will be introduced in September or October next year in a special event at Maranello. It will be both a coupe and an open car."Jerry McDermott Jerry McDermott
Dott.Gianluigi Longinotti Buitoni addresses the automotive press association at the Detroit Press Club
Ferrari Press Conference - November 17, 1993
"1993 has been Ferrari of North America's most difficult year as we experienced, a sales decline of 38%. However, what seemed the most troublesome was the thought that this was only the surface of more serious problems. This was not like the recessions in 1976 and 1981, but was due to some structural changes in customer demand that would jeopardize the very future of our business."Jerry McDermott Jerry McDermott
Latest F130 photos and news
More is revealed on the F130; are we on the right track?
Further photos of the F130 which have been show about. More is revealed, especially that forward curve on the rear wing side support, but please not there is still much duct tape on this model, so the final shape is still much in doubt.

Museum of Modern Art in New York accords Ferrari a great honour with an exhibition
In New York City, the Museum of Modern Art has accorded Ferrari quite an honor. It was donated by Ferrari, SpA, and will become a part of the Museum's permanent collection.Ferrari N.A.
"Club della Rossa". What is it, and when ?
Planned race track is shown to insiders
Plans are afoot to build a country club / race track outside of Maranello that will be for the exclusive use of Ferrari and its customers. This model is on display somewhere in the Factory compound, so the projects is very much out of the planning stages, and awaits only a final go ahead. The full-sized project reportedly will have a complete race course and pits, with a garage to house cars.Fox Talbot

The Phoenix Ferrari; s/n 0720 TR
The birth, life, death, rebirth, and second life of a famous 250 Testa Rossa
It was probably the first 250 TR I ever saw in person and in action; as a result, I took these numerous photos which illustrate this article. While s/n 0720 was a typically red Ferrari, later TRs weren't always campaigned with a red paint job. The cars were called pontoon-gendered, of course, referring to what was left of the fender after removal of the cut-a-way body, designed to cool the drum brakes underneath.Jerry McDermott, Dixon Johnston Jerry McDermott, Marcel Massini

The 348 Spider for a Day
Come for a drive in Ferrari's newest convertible on the Autostradas of Italy and on Ferrari's own track, Mugello
The phone call that confused out test of the 348 Spider was rather different from other calls I had received from Ferrari. It was our old friend Dr. Perfetti, saying that the date we had agreed upon was fine, but that he had no driver he could put at our disposition. Would I mind coming up to the Factory at around 9:30 am, and driving the Ferrari down to Mugello myself for our track and photography session?Guy Mangiamele Guy Mangiamele
A unique example of the modeler's art
Inventiveness is a hallmark of all car model builders, and it's not a quality you'd expect to find in this patient and severely goal oriented group of enthusiasts, since completing an exact duplicate is their raison d'être, but in their quest to make as exact a duplicate of the original as possible, they often must search for the right material to be imitated.Derek Crymble
