Icon for flag of Swiss Confederation Frank M. Rinderkecht Icon for flag of Swiss Confederation Rinspeed Inc.
The Rinspeed Senso of Swiss entrant Frank M. Rinderknecht puts the driver at the centre of attention. The Senso is powered by environment-friendly natural gas and described as the world’s “most sensual” car. It’s easy to see why, as Rinderknecht’s creation actually “senses” the driver by noting his or her biometric readings – and uses patterns, colours, music and aromas to positive effect. After all, a well-balanced driver is a safer driver.

It comes with electronically controlled all- wheel drive and is based on an innovative concept with folding seats which allows bicycles to be transported easily, for example. The Qashqai’s flexibility is further enhanced by rear-hinged rear doors and the lack of a B-pillar. This ground- breaking solution has been developed without compromising on the structural rigidity of the vehicle.

Apart from the famous Bugatti 35C, which was very successfully fielded in motor sport by Bugatti and claimed numerous trophies, the 35A was not designed primarily with the race track in mind. The famous British racing driver Dick Seaman received this model as a gift in his younger years, and it undoubtedly had a positive impact on the start of his racing career. The car is in absolute original condition.

The car was then purchased by a Peruvian Duesenberg collector, who left the vehicle in Paris, however. It has been in the United States since the 1940s and has been brought back to Europe for the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este by its current owner, James Glickenhaus of New York.

The 17th September, 1949 was a happy day for Alfa Romeo and Carrozzeria Touring. It was on this day, in the gardens of Villa Olmo at Cernobbio, that the most famous of all Concours d’Elegance took place. The extraordinary 6C 2500 Super Sport coupé, indisputably an aesthetic masterpiece by the Italian Master coachbuilder Touring, was awarded the Gran Premio by the public. From that time on this model has been known as the Villa d’Este. Several examples, such as this one taking part in the Concours, were convertibles.
