The Le Mans Classic is a bi-annual vintage sports car event held on the full 13.65 km circuit of Le Sarthe, part of which is public road for the rest of the year. The first edition in 2000 marked the first time the public roads where closed for a purpose other than the actual 24 Heures du Mans race. Cars competing the Le Mans Classic should have competed in original 24 Heures du Mans, or similar cars of the same model, and build prior to 1979.
