Overview of 31 events in the BPR Global GT Series with entries and results.

The BPR Global GT Series, named after its founders last names) was created to replace the World Sportscar Championship that folded in 1992. Patrick Peter (organiser of among others Tour Auto, Le Mans Classic, etc.), Jürgen Barth (organiser of single make Porsche championship) and Stéphane Ratel (the organiser of a single make Venturi championship) joined forces and launched an 8 race season in 1994 that included visits to Japan and China.
Popular already in this first season, the obvious Porsche and Venturi entries were joined by a Ferrari F40 Competition conversion, Lotus Esprits and Callaway Corvettes.
By 1995 and 1996 the starting grids of the travelling championship featured genuine Ferrari F40 GTE cars, the famed McLaren F1 GTR, a racing Jaguar XJ220 and eventually the Porsche 911 GT1’s.
The BPR Global GT Series effectively continued from 1997 onwards as the FIA GT Championship.
